Course description
This course introduces concepts and theories of conflict with intellectual roots in social psychology, sociology of education, and developmental psychology to develop a deeper understanding of the way conflicts are expressed, causes that can be detected, their potential consequences, and the central role of conflicts in leadership, education and transformational processes. To develop a thorough understanding of these conflicts, it is important to relate conflict and conflict management to power, culture, and social justice. In the course, the student will apply different theories and concepts while analyzing conflict situations, and interventions in educational and transformational contexts such as school development and improvement work, will be problematized.
