Course description

This course has been developed within The Gothenburg Research School of Health and Engineering (cooperation between Gothenburg University, Chalmers University of Technology and Region Västra Götaland). The seminar course connects research in technology and health and is compulsory for doctoral students at the Gothenburg Research School of Health Engineering, but is open to other doctoral students working in technology and health. The course aims to give students an in-depth understanding of areas that link health and technology such as innovation, utilization, ethics, and AI.

Requirements and Selection

Entry requirements

PhD students that are registered in a postgraduate education in a project that has a clear connection to both health and technology are eligible for admission.

Selection

Selection is performed according to the following:

  1. PhD students at Sahlgrenska Academy and Chalmers University of Technology who participate in "The Gothenburg Research School of Health and Engineering",
  2. PhD students at Sahlgrenska Academy and Chalmers University of Technology with a PhD project within health and technology, 
  3. PhD students enrolled at another university within a formal collaborative agreement on doctoral education with Sahlgrenska Academy with a PhD project within health and technology,
  4. PhD students enrolled at another faculty at the University of Gothenburg or another university in Sweden with a PhD project within health and technology, 
  5. PhD students enrolled at a university outside Sweden with a PhD project within health and technology.

The seminars are held roughly monthly and planned ahead to fit with the students' and speakers' schedules as well as possible.
